EuroEyes is now the official premium partner of the first division handball SG Flensburg-Handewitt team. After agreement between Dr. Jørn Slot Jørgensen, CEO and founder of EuroEyes, and Dierk Schmäschke, Managing Director of SG Flensburg-Handewitt, the cooperation was initiated in time for the 2018/2019 handball season. I love sports. It’s not a secret that I’m a passionate cyclist and I do my rounds as often as possible. That relaxes me after long days in the operation room. As a native Dane, I also follow handball in the same way. Flensburg is one of the best handball clubs in Germany – it’s simply great that we’re starting the new season together now!

With 15 locations in Germany, EuroEyes has considerably grown since 1993, but it all started in Hamburg…

Right. Meanwhile we also exist in China, but our roots are here, in Northern Germany. The proximity to the water, the coastal wind, the Nordic way – here in the north I feel completely at home. We also have clinics in Bremen, Lübeck and Oldenburg. With our commitment to Flensburg, we also want to show a little that we are connected to the region and give something back.

EuroEyes ensures that people can see sharply again – without glasses or contact lenses. How exactly do you have to imagine this?

Much less complicated than it sounds at first. We operate on an outpatient basis so that patients can go straight home again. With laser eye surgery, we “only” need 32 seconds per eye. And we employ the best doctors, who are also regularly included in the Focus TOP list of doctors every year. This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary and currently perform around 25,000 eye surgeries per year. Being able to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses is simply part of the quality of life.
