Alexander Talbot-Rice has had his eyes optimised with Presbyond Laser Blended Vision

Renowned artist Alexander Talbot-Rice recently opted for eye optimisation using the advanced Presbyond (Laser Blended Vision) procedure, performed by Dr Jørgensen at EuroEyes’ flagship clinic in Hamburg. EuroEyes is honoured that an artist of such calibre has placed his trust in our facility and expertise. This underlines our reputation as a leading clinic for laser eye treatment and our commitment to providing excellent medical care.

Alexander Talbot-Rice, who specialises in classical painting techniques, studied at two of the world’s most renowned art institutions, the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. He became internationally famous above all for his portraits of outstanding personalities such as Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Golden Jubilee. Alexander Talbot-Rice has also skilfully portrayed Margaret Thatcher, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Pope Benedict XVI.

“I realised that my style was becoming more and more impressionistic – and that actually kind of annoys me.” As the eyes are probably an artist’s most important “tool”, the artist did not want to have his vision restricted by glasses and sought advice from EuroEyes. The Presbyond procedure, which Alexander Talbot-Rice opted for, is an innovative laser treatment that was specially developed for patients suffering from presbyopia. This treatment enables patients to regain sharp vision at all distances without having to rely on glasses or reading glasses.

Presbyond Laser Blended Vision – laser eye treatment for presbyopia

With the Presbyond Laser Blended Vision method, both eyes are optimised separately for distance and near vision. The so-called “blend zone”, the intermediate area for the middle vision range, is particularly important. With the help of detailed measurements, this zone is individually determined and optimised so that after the treatment, all details can be seen clearly at close and far range as well as in the middle range. The depth of field is adjusted individually for each eye and the overlap of the images in the centre area is calculated precisely for the patient. This unique “blend zone” makes it easier for the brain to merge the images from both eyes. This creates the familiar three-dimensional image – and most patients experience an immediate improvement in their vision. In addition, they usually get used to their new vision more quickly than with other surgical correction methods.
